What changed in 1.0.1
A safer, clearer path after purchase
- Provider setup now clearly separates the supported OpenAI path from planned providers and explains that provider billing controls vary.
- A new AI Provider Guide documents mock mode, OpenAI, and the validation gate required before Anthropic can be advertised as supported.
- Product & updates can check a small manifest on the official Studio domain after an explicit click.
- The Studio never downloads or executes an update. Customers continue to download entitlement-protected ZIPs from Polar and verify the displayed SHA-256.
- The release test now installs the package twice and proves that projects, configuration, encrypted credentials, connections, and activation survive an in-place upgrade.
Install
From purchase to first launch
- Download the ZIP from your order receipt or customer download page.
- Right-click it, choose Extract All, and open the extracted folder.
- Run
Install-AI-Content-Studio.cmd. - Open AI Content Studio from the Start menu.
- Enter the purchase email and license key from the receipt.
- Open Help & first video and follow the guided First Video Walkthrough.
The standard per-user installation does not require administrator rights. The ZIP includes its required Node.js runtime and FFmpeg; customers do not install developer tools or run npm.
AI provider
Bring your own account safely
Live text, image, and narration generation requires a compatible provider account. Provider usage is billed separately. Use a project-specific API key, configure spend limits and alerts first, then save the key through the Studio’s encrypted AI provider screen.
Model access varies by provider, region, permissions, and verification. Some image models require organization verification. Mock mode is available for learning without generation charges.
Release verification
What was tested
- Strict TypeScript validation and 102 automated regression tests.
- Self-contained extraction, disposable Windows installation, and verified in-place upgrade preservation.
- Local startup, starter walkthrough, project deletion, Help flow, workflow-value panel, provider-vault boundary, safe update checker, and production Polar licensing boundary.
- Real local FFmpeg rendering and render-checksum creation.
- Windows Installed Apps registration and Start menu uninstall option, with customer data preserved by default.
- Archive inspection for owner configuration, secret files, draft policies, and test markers.
Windows may show a reputation warning until the release is code-signed. Review the verified filename and checksum before continuing.
